I’m creating a new app for Wilmot to use. It’s going to be Alumni registration so that Wilmot Alumni can register and put in email address, phone number, etc. It should make planning class reunions and such much easier, hopefully.

Anyway, i just finished the basic user authentication. Now, I’ve been working on this for weeks, something that should have taken me just days, however, this is really my first php app and I’m pretty proud of it. I have all the basics down so far. Now I’m going to start implementing ways to view the information. I also have many ideas that I still need to add in.

Then I will start testing it. I don’t think releasing it for beta testing would be very useful, since not many schools are in session right now, and it wouldn’t get many downloads. So for now, I will be the beta testing team. Once I am satisfied with the functionality I will start the design process. I will probably spend a week or two on the design for the administrative side. And then I will spend a few weeks designing a few different templates with multiple color schemes for the user side.

I haven’t decided if I will release it to the public or not yet. I have a while to think about. If I did release it, it would be after I got it set up at Wilmot and had it running for a while. That way I would be able to kill any bugs that might not have shown on my server.
